media working group
The Media Working Group, effectively the executive committee of the Media Foundation, established the Media Council.
APPOINTMENTS COmmittee
The Appointments Committee established by the Media Working Group with the primary task of selecting people to sit on the Media Council Board.
Chief Executive officer
The Chief Executive Officer is the point person for complaints about the media from the public.
media council BOARD
The Media Council Board is the eight-strong panel that hears complaints against the media.
Media Council funding
The bulk of the cost of running the Media Council, which is primarily administrative and includes the salary of our part-time Chief Executive Officer, is met by the members of the Media Working Group. Every other media outlet that supports the Media Council pays a nominal, annual fee that helps offset costs. The council receives no government funding.
