The Media Council of Bermuda helps resolve complaints against the media and protects freedom of expression.
Regulation of the media is a sensitive issue because a balance has to be struck between individual rights, the duty to inform and consideration of the public good. The media are a powerful force in our community and claim significant privileges as they seek to hold others to account. The Media Council aims to make the media more accountable to the public they serve and in doing so, strengthen their vital role in our Island democracy. This website walks you through the complaints process and, through our Code of Practice, sets ethical and professional standards for media outlets.
